The second Epee and Sabre events of the 2008-2009 SoCal Youth Challenge are coming up.
The past seasons of this series have been very successful in all three weapons. These events are for unrated fencers and are not sanctioned so no ratings will be awarded.
Updated information is also available at www.socalyouthchallenge.com. Info will also be posted on Askfred. These events allow our youth fencers to get much needed tournament experience on a local level.
Also, the second Foil event will be taking place on November 23rd at Fortune Fencing.

Toys for Tots Tournament
November 29, 2008
There are three events being held at the competition:
D Foil - 9:00 a.m.
Y14 Foil - 11:30 a.m.
Open Sabre - 1:00 p.m.
The event is being held at Dos Vientos Community Center: Newbury Park.
Bring an unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more plus $5 (checks only please) for each entry. Please be generous, it's for the kids! Pre-register on-line by 11/25/08 to speed registration and pay at the event.

Fencers & Friends..........
Hope this finds everyone in the best of health...........Wanted to let you know that the Conejo Club will
be sponsoring the Toys for Tots meet on November 29th. The venue will be the Dos Vientos Community Cntr
4801 Borchard Rd, Newbury Park.......1-805-375-1003. As of right now the Event will be Y-14 Foil...."D" Foil
and Open Sabre. To ensure the meet runs smoothly......we could use plenty of volunteers.....Directors.....
people to help setup strips....and tear down the strips once the meet is over.
I will be contacting the U.S.M.C.Reserve Cntr in Port Hueneme next week to see if we can get a representative
from the Marines to attend...Also....will try to find someone to Play or Sing the National Anthem......Dave Varon
has found some nice gifts for the top finishers in each weapon..........The main theme of the meet ..of course is
to collect as many unwrapped gifts as we can for the Toys for Tot campaign. If anyone has any questions or
suggestions please let me know.......
Remember....Sam and H.O.M. Fencing supply will be at the Conejo Club this weekend.....Oct 25th.....
So.......stop by if you are in need of any repair....or replacement.....
