Just checking in with the club. I have my first meeting with the Penn State fencing team on monday, just siging paper work and all that stuff. Then, starting September 4th, try outs begin. Give my regards to everyone at the club and wish me luck.

I contacted the USFA to find out how the machines used at the Olympics worked. This is the reply.

Oh, if only I knew how the wireless scoring works. :-)
The machines used at the Olympics are from sgfencing.com (the SG-31, which lists for about $3500). I can't find information on their site about the wireless equipment. Note that the wireless is only used in sabre.
I'll forward your message onto two experts who may be able to come up with a more complete answer.
